V2/ue/Build/Cooking/v2-cook-validation.json defines the validation step that runs after parallel cooking and before cooked artifacts are published. It verifies that cooked assets load correctly and that cooked package references resolve through the dependency graph.

plan-v2-cook-validation.py emits one V2CookValidationCommandlet load check per platform profile and validation asset. The command receives the cooked package path, platform asset registry, dependency graph, and per-asset report path.

The validation suites cover texture, shader, material, mesh, audio, animation, and level-world packages. Material and level suites also check missing references against the expected dependency graph edges. Asset registry coverage must remain at 100 percent for the validation fixture.

The missing references report is the publishing blocker for this validation step.

Required gates:

  • cook-validation-plan-generated
  • cook-validation-load-success
  • cook-validation-missing-references
  • cook-validation-suite-coverage
  • cook-validation-command-coverage

The primary failure metric is cook.validation.missing_reference_count. The CI validator is:

bash
python3 V2/ue/Tools/check-v2-cook-validation.py
