Context#

The V4 product promise combines five distinct game-feel families rather than a single generic action layer. Launch automation and LiveOps split the tactical and stealth-tactics spaces into six shippable cells so coverage can be verified without blending their feel.

Decision#

V4 ships as one product with five genre families and six launch cells: Tactical FPS, Stealth, real-time stealth tactics, action RPG, real-time strategy, and 2D run-and-gun. Each launch cell preserves its native feel through its own mode plugins, input mapping contexts, camera contracts, HUD composition, simulation rules, and automation feel tests.

Consequences#

  • Shared systems must expose cell-aware contracts instead of flattening all mechanics into one universal mode.
  • Acceptance tests need per-cell coverage.
  • Scope changes that remove a launch cell require a phase-cut ADR.
