Remote and hybrid work are supported per discipline. The policy is designed to protect deep work, time-zone boundaries, inclusive participation, and release coverage without forcing hidden overtime.

Discipline Modes#

Discipline Default mode Notes
Engineering Remote-first hybrid Lab hardware and platform kits scheduled by booking window
Design Remote-first hybrid Playtest days can be in-studio or distributed
Art and animation Hybrid Capture review and device color checks booked in advance
Mocap and VO On-site by session Travel, recovery, and safety windows are scheduled
QA and certification Hybrid Device-lab coverage rotates; overnight runs are automated where possible
Support and live ops Remote-first with on-call On-call is explicit, compensated, and separate from sprint work

Time-Zone Respect#

Meetings are constrained to documented overlap windows. No discipline can use a standing meeting that repeatedly lands outside a contributor's local workday without explicit written exception and rotation. Async-first updates are the default for status, design review, decision logs, and feedback requests.

Async Operating Rules#

  • Decisions are recorded in writing.
  • Meetings have agenda, owner, expected outcome, and notes.
  • Review requests include deadline, artifact link, decision needed, and fallback if nobody responds.
  • Production cannot treat delayed async response outside local work hours as a performance issue.

Equipment And Ergonomics#

Remote staff receive equipment, secure access, ergonomic support, and device booking parity with in-office staff. Accessibility accommodations apply equally to remote and hybrid work.
